Rehearsals

Gamelan

Narwastu rehearses on a gamelan kebyar three days each week. Currently there is a beginners gamelan that meets from 15:00 - 16:30 on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Following these rehearsals is an advanced rehearsal from 16:30 - 18:00.

These are rehearsals are a fun yet intense time of learning Balinese music, from classic pieces such as Legong Keraton, Kebyar Duduk and Marga Pati to more modern pieces, written by composer and teacher I Wayan Rajeg.

Workshops on gamelan can be arranged for individuals and groups.

Dance

Balinese dance classes, under the able instruction of Ida Ayu Made Diastini, can be arranged upon request.

Thursday evenings from 18:30 - 20:00, Tina Bailey leads a dance exploration group. These are accessible to dancer and non-dancer alike. Local musicians join to provide interactive and improvised sound to accompany the dance.
